SODA CLASSES
SODA Classes are a group of sustainable outcome digital assets on the global and jurisdiction
sustainable outcomes registry that are intrinsically identical globally in the sustainable outcome
objective. SODA within a SODA Class are interchangeable and tradeable between Sustainable
Outcome Registry accounts both within a jurisdiction and across jurisdictions.
SODA CLASS 001 -
Emissions Offsets
-
Ex-post issuance, not promises. SODA is minted only after outcomes are measured and verified, reducing greenwashing risk and forward-reliance.
-
Litigation-Ready evidence. Every unit carries an LRPDS (project, method, data, verification, legal notices) so claims are audit-ready.
-
Single-claim registry. Once a unit backs a public claim it becomes non-transferable, preventing double use.
-
Independent verification. Methods require third-party verification aligned with ISO 14064-3/14065 prior to issuance.
-
Reporting fit. Designed to plug into climate disclosures and transition plans - clear “residuals-only” use alongside internal reductions.
SODA CLASS 002 -
Biodiversity
-
Evidence-first: Projects document objectives, indicators and monitoring, with verification before any unit is minted.
-
Organisational fit: The Class aligns with the emerging organisational approach to biodiversity strategy, indicators and disclosure.
-
One claim per unit: Prevents re-use of the same nature outcome across multiple narratives.
SODA CLASS 003 -
Water
-
Comparable units across diverse actions. Different water outcomes are translated into a single service unit (wy) for year-to-year tracking.
-
No double counting; one claim per unit. Public, searchable claims prevent re-use.
-
Verification before issuance. Independent checks and conservative estimates are mandatory.
SODA CLASS 004 -
Land Systems
-
Clean accounting: This Class separates “cover” outcomes from species and water services, avoiding overlap.
-
Verification + transparency: Evidence, methods and verifier opinions live with the unit’s registry record.
SODA CLASS 005 -
Nutrient Integrity
-
Clear boundary with water quality credits: Source-level controls sit here; in-stream removals sit in Class 003WQ—no overlap.
-
Ex-post, verified: Evidence and independent checks come first, then issuance.
